The RACAL MA.150 Synthesizer was designed for use primarily with the RA.17 and RA.117 receivers.
The synthesizer was produced to UK government specification and provides a very high accuracy frequency source
for the RACAL receivers and also for use with the Racal MA.79 HF Transmitter Drive.
With the decade switches on the front panel you can set up a precise defined frequency.
These switches can be
set to any KHz frequency from 000 to 999 KHz.
The synthesizer also has a 1 MHz high accuracy output which is used to feed the 0-30 MHz oscillator in the
receiver (or driver). In this way, all of the variable frequency settings are under the control of the synthesiser.
The type MA.150 synthesizer, which uses a valve (tube) design is quite rare, because the production run was very
short.
The MA.150 was replaced with the full solid state synthesizers such as the MA.350.
That is all the information I have on this unit. If you have more information, I would like to hear about it!
